Lady Jane, who has been treating my lounge like her
private Jungle Jim, managed to topple a stack of – fortunately empty – boxes!
All three mippies came skidding around the corner into the bedroom at top
speed!
This morning, more boxes were toppled, but it’s now a
game – mippies no longer skid into the bedroom at top speed!
I got up before six, made my coffee, had my cookie and
then sat outside. It’s lovely and cool outside at this time of the morning.
Back inside, mippies wanted cuddles – Mewthos was playing with his wurmpie
while he waited for his turn! It’s amazing how much he loves that little toy;
so many toys are left aside, rarely touched or played with, but that little
wurmpie is always between his paws!
I took all their toys from the small desks drawer –
since that desk goes to work on Monday – and put them into their toy drawer. I’ve
made the bottom drawer of my chest of drawers their toy drawers, and it’s
always open, so they can pick toys as they like. I then took the little crawler
out and switched it on – minis had a great time following it around, picking it
up, pawing at it! It works nicely on the tiles, so it was a bit wasted in the
PE flat. Here, I let it loose in the bathroom – since that is mippie-land.
When I wanted to go for another smoke, I could not
find Ziva! I looked and looked in every room, every nook and cranny, I was
beginning to fear she might have got out, when I thought to look under the bed!
Yeah, there she lay, looking smug and cool, with no interest in my calls or
worries!
I finally got around to covering the oven, which is
standing outside. I had a dropsheet over it, but that didn’t quite protect it
from the rain. Now, I’ve taken clear waste bags and wrapped them around and
taped them together.
Oh gosh! I just saw Ziva’s neck! Under the Seresto
collar, all the hair had come out! Evidently, she has a reaction to it. Shame,
poor girl! And I was just last night so happy that her scabs, where she had
been scratching herself raw to get rid of the fleas, were finally coming off
and healing! Ai ai! I cut the collar off as fast as I could, of course! Before
I could wipe to clean her neck, however, she had crawled back under the bed and
wouldn’t come out. No, I didn’t put the collar on too tight – it’s the same as
the mini’s: two fingers easily fit under the collar.
I re-packed the lamb and put it in the freezer, taking
out enough for a braai for three adults. Then I had an enjoyable braai (BBQ)
with my landlady and landlord. She had made some salad and I supplied the meat –
I also brought my plates and cutlery, after all, it’s not much of a ‘thank you
gift’ if they do all the work!
After the long trip home (Ha Ha! From next door) I
watered the garden. The Nasturtiums were all flat on the ground – it was an
extremely hot day, I nearly drowned them again, lets see if they make it. I’m
watering the lawn every day as well, hoping to soften the ground for when I can
start working it. There’s quite a lot of weeds among the grass, even a couple
of thorns – I’m itching to pull them out! But the ground is quite hard and
mostly sand, so it needs softening. I’m told there’s about a meter of ground,
under which there’s solid rock.
It’s only eight, I still wanted to get a foot massage
in my foot spa, but I’m just too tired. I’d rather not risk oversleeping
tomorrow.
