I made myself the last of the rice with tomatoes, an egg and cheese, then fried some of the Maultaschen. They look small, but they are quite a meal, ha ha! I fried too many ...
I went to bed early ... well, with load shedding from 20:00 - 00:30 ...
I got a lift to get groceries ... quite a lot on special, so I went a bit overboard. Long-life milk, toilet paper, butter (yes, again!), margarine, cooking oil, potatoes, and I 'treated' myself to plain yoghurt & sour cream. Only, the yoghurt was more expensive that the price on the shelf ... only saw that now, though. I also bought chicken hearts and chicken livers for the kitties ...
The only things I had planned were eggs, milk (if on special), potatoes (if on special), and a tin of cheap wet food for cats. I forgot to get that tin ... but I got the chicken parts, so that's fine.
Bumped into an old friend - going back to my party days on the first site here at BMW! Lovely to see her - though she's lost so much weight, I didn't recognise her. She recognised me, though!
At the butchery I bought a frozen whole chicken - which is much cheaper than parts (and they didn't have chicken breast - only skinned and boned - and cheese.
I've re-shuffled my budget. Next mission will be going to DisChem. I saw that they sell bread flour substantially cheaper than I can get it online - that'll be worth the trip. I'm also hoping to get Rehidrat cheaper there. And maybe some toiletries / cleaning materials. I'll make a list this weekend. I hope ...
By the way, the one little kitten had waddled all the way to the car port by the time I came outside to feed the ferals! I spent some time sitting in the car port, let the baby eat for a while, but when the older kittens refused to come near me, I picked up be baby and carried it to the Wendy, so it's sibling could also get some food!
I'm going to have to take my groceries home in two shifts - 2x 6L milk is just too much. The cooler bag is full, so is my shopping bag, plus there's my lunch bag ... with some luck, I can take everything but the 2nd milk carton.
Well, ten to four ...
