LS 4 3 Saturday

I was so tired last night, I actually went to bed just after six.

Woke up early this morning - it's just past eight and I've finished the dishes and the laundry is on the line.

Twenty past nine, lounge floors washed, kitchen floors washed.

Ten to eleven, all but my bedroom floors are swept and potatoes are in the steamer.

Half past eleven, chicken livers and chicken hearts are fried, kitchen is clean, potatoes are done. Time to switch off ... load shedding at twelve.

Washed the dishes again, swept and washed the rest of the floors, changed the bedding, placed the used ones in the machine ... squished the potatoes through the Rösti maker, re-read the recipe ... more carefully ... and I think I know what I've been doing wrong. Folded and packed away the laundry ...

Where did all this energy come from? Well, today isn't too hot. That makes a big difference.

I cleaned so I could reach my parsley, then trimmed the parsley - lots has turned yellow, I'm afaid. Then I cleaned the melon and bean bed - big job! I also had to extend the bed - melons are travelling.

I've worked really hard today, and I've achieved a lot! Tomorrow I just need to bake bread rolls and the chicken, then pull the meat off the chicken, shred and mix it with the liver and hearts - I'm going to pack portions into the freezer, keep only one out. See how long that lasts.

My tenant just said the nicest thing: he said that I'm the best person he's ever met. The way I treat him, help him when I can - even when he hasn't asked for help, but could use it. The way I take care of those cats which just showed up ... it's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me!

Quarter to nine, I've taken a lovely hot bath, now I'm just going to wind down with my mippies - they're already spread over the bed, ha ha!

Load shedding from 02:00 - 04:30, then again tomorrow evening 18:00 - 20:30. They called tomorrow 'load shedding free' ... because load shedding is suspended from 05:00 - 16:00 tomorrow. That's not even half a day!

Anyway ... I'm going to sleep well tonight.
