LS 3 0 Dark 1 hr, light 2 hrs, dark again 6 hrs, LS 2 Sunday

I had a very hard time trying to get to sleep last night. I couldn't find a pain-free position to lie. I tried either side, even on my back didn't work. What pain? Lower back, hips. Normally, when I work in the garden, I take an extra hot bath with mustard foam bath and bath powder. Last night I chose to indulge myself and used bath oil with rose foam bath. Lesson learned, the mustard works!

Eventually I got up and took two anti inflammatory / muscle relaxants. They helped somewhat, but I was still uncomfortable.

This morning, I'm still uncomfortable. In addition, I've lately picked up some trouble with my left ankle ...

Getting creaky, ha ha!

I woke up quite late this morning, got up quite a long after six. Smeagol was already complaining.

I went to feed the ferals, when I sat outside the Wendy to feed the babies, Smeagol wanted to eat their food - I shooed him away ... he then attacked Mewthos, quite a big attack, which had me running to get him away ... and while I was tending to Mewthos, Smeagol went and ate the babies' food!

Mewthos was soaking wet, having rolled on the wet grass. He also has two wounds, at the back. One right on top of his tail, one under. I've wrestled with him, first to dry him, then to clean the wounds and add ointment.

Crap! I was busy loading the bread machine when the power went off! Huge area affected. No clue why. I think I managed to turn off the PC in time ...

An hour later, power comes back on. Apparently an explosion at Rosslyn Substation ...

Poor Mewthos! He's been bleeding all over my clean duvet cover! Ziva came to wash his wound, and I've already done my best. He's staying curled up on the bed ...

Bread dough is in progress. I'm now experimenting with my own variations. After three years, I think I have enough experience ... last week, I've replaced one cup of white bread flour with a cup of whole-wheat. It was a bit dense and a bit oily. Which kept them moist the whole week - so I want to keep that. This week I'm adding a bit more sugar and a bit more yeast. See how that comes out.

Quite a bit of waiting involved today. Waiting for the dough to be finished, waiting while baking ... and I can't really do much while I wait, because it's short times ...

I just shaped the rolls and got the chicken ready when the power went off again! I wonder if this is a new form of load shedding? Power off an hour, on for two, off again ...

This time the PC crashed the instant the power went off.  Sigh ...

This time it's a substation that tripped. They're tripping so much,  I'm wondering if they're earning frequent flyer miles ...

Six o'clock, still no power. Now we're scheduled for load shedding until eight, so we won't know whether the power is restored ...

My bread rolls are rising up, they're starting a revolution. I've put the chicken - oven tray and all - in the fridge. Hauled out the gas cooker and fried potatoes with eggs and cheese. Can't be bothered to shape and flip on the gas cooker. Next I'll run a bath, don't ask me how I'll wash my hair. Rinsing is the issue, when there's no pressure.

Well, we're told that we should have power at eight. Hold thumbs, I really need to bake! It's going to be late before I can go to bed, either way.  That really sucks.

Well, I spent a few hours pampering my tomato plants. Next year I won't allow so many to grow! Not so many cherry tomatoes. I will make sure to have more variety next year.
