Lock-down Day 652

Lateish morning, not feeling very motivated ...

On the way home, I stopped for petrol ... car wouldn't start! Called the boss, he'll come. Can't be the battery - I don't think it was the battery, on Monday, either. I keep trying occasionally. Nothing. I had to get out through the passenger side, as there was a pole blocking my door. Checked if everything is connected - well, the little I still recognise. All looks right. And then, I don't know why, but I tried again - only this time, I held the key in the starting position for a few seconds longer. It started! No, I don't know why I did that - I know of no reason why that should have worked. Well, I'm glad it did! I called the boss. He thinks he knows what the problem is, we'll sort it out next week. Which is no problem, as I'm not going anywhere, anyway.

Back at home ... mowing! Sigh. That is still a full workout! The back lawn is a pleasure! But the front? Some areas are a pleasure - but everywhere is littered with horrid stuff! The mower snags, I have to bend down, untangle, push again. Over and over and over ... But it's all done!

Then I still had about an hour of light, so I removed all the cardboard in the section outside my bedroom, and started cleaning the overgrown areas. It's ugly!

Funny thing: when I lifted the cardboard off the pavement, three surprised frogs stared at me in stunned disbelief!

It seems that steaming works very well on some weeds - the pavement with all the holes in the bricks, out back, is still completely clear of weeds! Even though I haven't actually pulled any of the dead weeds out. And despite the rain we've had since I've steamed there - still not a speck of green! But the grass? That doesn't care! It carries on growing regardless! Even where I steamed, there's fresh grass growing through the pavement outside my bedroom!

Back inside, poor Ziva threw up nearly her whole dinner soon after she'd eaten. So I gave them all another pouch of Royal Canin. Not Whiskas! Mewthos, of course, was happy! As was Mini! Janey is the only one, who isn't overly interested in wet food. Oh, she likes it - but I think the stress of the crowd is not to her liking. I often have to put her bowl separately.

Anyway, Ziva is demanding cuddles. NOW! So, better publish and oblige her ...
