Lock-down Day 659

Pretty late start to the day, as I struggled to fall asleep last night. Sigh ...

Back at home ... mowing the lawn! It's less work than last Friday - two reasons: last Friday I mowed 1 1/2 weeks growth, today only 1 weeks, and last Friday I put a lot of effort into mowing on the shortest possible setting where I had the energy / strength. And it also didn't rain that much, this week.

Good thing, too, because by six I just gave up. Had enough ... couldn't carry on. That section by the rose beds is not just a nightmare because the grass there is impossible to mow, but also, because there are too many patches which are too narrow to move the mower! The beds are so close together, with just a strip of 'lawn' between them - can't maneuver the mower there.

So, I started cutting some of those areas by hand. The strip between the rose and the gooseberry, and then the strip in front of the weed guard. By the time I was finished, I not only had a blister, but it had popped, too ... Ouch!

Smeagol was around the entire afternoon. He strolled past Janey without any move that suggested he even thought of attacking her! He does seem to be mellowing ...

Well, I'm knackered. I've showered, shared my dinner ... now I'm ready for bed ...
