Lock-down Day 220

I've slept well, enjoying the sound of the rain throughout the night. I placed my rainwater measuring cup yesterday and I can see it from my bedroom window - it has substantial water in it! I haven't gone out to check, yet.

I let mippies out, even though it's still drizzling - they're happy going outside! I was somewhat surprised to see Lady Jane high up in the Jacaranda tree! Why that surprised me, I do not know - she loves climbing trees!

That other cat showed up again, picking a fight with Ziva and Mewthos right at my bedroom window! So, I had to get outside to chase it away. While I was out there, I checked the rainfall: over 30 mm! Awesome!

Of course, the back lawn is almost completely purple now, ha ha! The Jacaranda tree is in full bloom, which are coming down with the rain.

I'm still not feeling very well, if I don't get up to normal soon, I think it would be better to take the day off tomorrow. It's no longer just low energy, but I'm occasionally a tad dizzy. I've been doing a few odd things around the place, nothing onerous, though. I've cleaned mippies water sources - the flower fountain, which I put up in the lounge, their plain dispenser (which they don't particularly like) and the new fountain.

I moved some books around, emptying the next shelf, washed it, treated it with oil ... nothing much. I sat and rolled a lot of cigarettes, though!

Then, just before five, the power went out! Urgh, I was in the middle of preparing dinner - hadn't started cooking, yet. I had re-packed the chicken hearts (and given mippies some) and packed them in the freezer, next I'd cut the baby marrows and placed them in the frying pan ... and boom! Darkness descended!

I didn't get a chance to fry anything, fortunately, I still had some bread left over - that was dinner. Thank you, Eishkom!

I tried reporting the power failure, but apparently my meters serial number is not in their list. So I tried calling the number - but after 16 minutes I hung up! The problem is, that if they are closed, they just leave you on hold ... since they are supposed to be a 24-hour line, you can end up on hold for hours ... it's a toll-free number, but only if you call from a landline, not from a mobile number. Well, so much for that ... I'm going to have to sort that out one day ... soon!

I picked a book from my shelf and retired to bed for a good read. I placed my LED lamp on top of the breakfast tray on my bed, so the light came from over my shoulder onto the book - perfect for reading! I read until I was ready to sleep (about quarter to nine), then went to sleep.

At nine, the power came back on!
