As I left for work, I was upset to see that the new
flower had broken off – it’s head drooping, dying. I’m not sure what happened,
whether some stray cat swished it’s tail decapitating it, or whether a bird thought
it was food. I just hope another one will come up some time to delight me.
I had written to the agency, raising my concerns with
their negligent attitude towards my safety – received a reply first
apologising, but then explaining at length how it’s not their fault and not
their problem. In a nutshell, my response: Use your brain – it’s the little
things in life that count. Subject closed.
On site I work with predominantly foreigners from all
over the world – Germans, Indians, Chinese, Mexicans, Portuguese, Spanish,
Romanian. And what always fascinates me is their first impression of my
Home-country, South Africa. What I find frightening, however, is hearing the
pre-conceived ideas based on what little is reported in the international news.
Without getting into any political discussion, the strong opinions based on so
little knowledge are frightening me. Everybody mentions Mandela – yet nobody
has heard of de Klerk. Let’s leave it at that.
Back home. Ever wonder where I found the time to write
this blog? Yep, took it out of my evening gaming time of course! But now I’ve
run into a little problem: it’s a strategy game, and each new chapter requires
a different strategy – it’s not a simple keep building and growing strategy game.
And now I’ve just entered a new chapter which is quite different from the last
aaaand: I’m stumped! So here are a couple of photos of the sunset for your
entertainment while I go work on my strategy!

| Sorry about the blurry pic, but on this one the colours came out so well |
