Unbelievably I overslept for the third day in a
row! Well, at least tomorrow is a public holiday, so I can pretty much count on
waking up early! In the past oversleeping was mostly a subconscious desire to
avoid something – like when I didn’t want to go to work for whatever reason.
But that was such a long time ago – and nothing has changed this past week that
could explain my recent oversleeping. Ok, so the new site manager is here, but
we’re getting on well – no negative vibes at work whatsoever. Ah, well.
I was quite busy all day at work, so the day
felt short – well, leaving an hour earlier also helped. Since tomorrow is a
public holiday, I left at three – like I do on Fridays. So I make up for coming in late by leaving early! No wonder the day felt short - ha ha, it was short!
As I stopped in my driveway I looked through
the fence and observed a bird sitting on the yellow, closed part of my mystery
flowers, pecking at something on those hard cobs? I don’t know what to call
them – they do look a bit like maize cobs. I was intrigued and watched for
quite some time before parking the car in the garage. I went to inspect the
flower after the bird had gone – but could not discover what it had been
pecking at.
I went and got my camera and took another
photo-tour through my garden.
All three bushes have exploded in glorious colour!
The Aloes growing around the fallen tree are also flowering!
The tomatoes were attacked by powdery mildew - I'm treating them almost daily and am rewarded with a bumper crop
The Dianthus' produce new blooms almost every day - gorgeous! The white Alyssum in the background smell wonderfully honey sweet
All colours are represented in my garden
Chores done, so I decided to go ahead and post
the blog online. I’m back-dating it until I reach the current day. I was a bit
disappointed to find I can’t post photo’s in a block of four, that each photo
takes up it’s height and the next one shows up underneath instead of next to
it. Maybe there is a way to do that and I just need to figure out how. I had
already decided on a ‘theme’ beforehand, I want to keep this as simple as
possible. It took me a while to find out where to change my time zone … and
when I changed it, my ‘posted at’ date & time changed as well. Sjoe, this
is a bit trickier than I had anticipated. I’m no longer as keen to explore
programs or gadgets as I used to be – I like things to be simple and
functional.
