I spent at least half an hour playing with my three
mippies! Yes, you heard right: Three! Ziva took a couple of runs after the
stick as well! Mewthos will throw himself at the stick, using his weight while
Lady Jane and Ziva will watch from a retreat until they see an opportunity to
pounce! It’s a lot of fun watching their different strategies – and playing
into them!
Good night, early morning – but I chose to linger in
bed. Grabbed mippies as they came into reach for cuddles and snuggles – whether
they were in the mood or not, he he. Went to get electricity and the groceries
I needed – which took only half an hour.
Back at home, I’ve cleaned both floors, now I should
just give them a final wash, to clean the tile cleaner off (which turns sticky,
if you leave it) and then I have to wash the blue mats. Sigh. Widdle receptors L The secret widdler has struck again! I’m quite tired now, though. I’ve
also cleaned the sand box and found lots and lots and lots of droplets in there
– I just hope whatever caused it, is now past.
When I got back, I let the Mips out and they’ve
enjoyed themselves in the garden – coming back up for cuddles and snuggles
regularly! They also supervised my cleaning efforts very carefully.
Well, I tried taking a nap. No sooner had I laid down
than Lady Jane came mip mip mipping for attention. After throwing herself at me
enthusiastically from every angle, she wandered off. And I managed to catch
forty winks. Not more, though, because then Mewthos came mewling loudly! I
pretended to still be asleep, but he just mewled louder and walked over me
until I gave in. Afterwards he went into the carrier and started twirling the blanket
I keep in there. Ai, ai.
I hear some cat fighting so I go to the rescue – it’s
Romeo and Frankie! What IS Romeo thinking? At first Frankie runs off, when he
hears me coming – but later he comes to where I’m sitting on the steps,
something he NEVER does, unless Rose is there! So I don’t think it is very far
fetched to take it as his way of saying thank you! I pet him, and to show my
appreciation, I pick him up and lift him over the fence to Rose. It’s a long
way around for him to walk – and he doesn’t jump onto the table and over the
fence … not at his age. Okay, so he’s a bit uneasy about me picking him up, and
his claws dig into my shoulder – but not very deep, and it’s understandable, I
don’t pick him up often, so I haven’t gained his trust in that respect, yet.
And to think that it took over a year before he even allowed me to touch him!
Sheez! Lady Jane just came shooting through the gates …
with The Terror close on her heels! That cat actually came not only up my
stairs, but was about to follow her through the gate, if I hadn’t been there!
I’ve been a bit lax, and my mippies are still playing
outside … even though it is totally dark already. I’ll let them play for a bit
longer – they’ll be shut in for the next three days! I can always jiggle the
bell-ball, they’ll come running when they hear that!
I didn’t have to wait very long, I opened a bag of
Biltong and Ziva came running, closely followed by Lady Jane! No sign of
Mewthos, though. So I jiggle the ball and he comes running. Since I’m not up to
playing with them now, I open a sachet as a reward for them coming when I ‘called’.
Ziva is in a bad mood, growling and hissing and
attacking the Lady Jane whenever she comes near her. She’s growling and
mumbling and carrying on like nobody’s business. It’s really annoying, so I
pick her up and cuddle her – which she does not like at all! I let her down and
she goes back to her bawling and growling, so I pick her up again. Eventually
she skulks off into the bedroom to sulk!
I’m in a mood myself, with the big ‘what next’ looming
large ahead. I’m listless and apathetic – not in the mood for anything. Sigh.
Well, I hope to feel better tomorrow.
