Soon after load shedding started, the new neighbours started up their generator!
The silver lining, of course, is: their floodlights add to my safety as well.
Early morning wake-up, courtesy of the neighbours cat having a hissy growl with Mewthos at my bedroom window ...
This morning, the cat lady, who helped me trap the ferals, had posted that one of her babies had been killed by her other babies! I cannot imagine coming home to such a horror! I think I should reconsider Sybil's situation in my own home. Maybe I should keep her in the spare room, when I'm at work? I'll have to tidy that room up, and give her toys and stuff ...
Aaand petrol price has gone up! By over 37c!
At least there is one item of good news: Sign Language is FINALLY an official language! It is an utter disgrace that it has taken nearly 30 years! And no, it's not English - just with signs, you know, like writing ... it is a completely individual language, with it's own grammar, it's own culture ... you can't just learn a few signs, string them together and somehow that's a sentence.
Anyway.
I had another weird dream this morning. About a snake in my garden ... curled up, peacefully, far away from my cats ... then it moved towards my cats and I killed it. And felt bad about killing the snake ...
Predictably, load shedding is just getting worse and worse. Our government is not doing anything. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch.
The latest news is that they are now blaming the private sector! Seriously! They've slammed the door on the private sector's involvement in electricity generation ... the utter fallacy of such a statement is just incomprehensible!
Our third stooge, MoE (Minister of Electricity) is clearly as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike! (Stole that one from 'Morning Shot' - it was such a classic!). And they are right - the only way to go is off the grid. But how? As a tenant, that's not really my decision ... even if I could afford it ...
Anyway. Time to go home ...
