I spent a lot of time cuddling Sybil. She is such a darling! She purrs up a storm, holds my hand, and just loves being cuddled!
It took quite some time before I could finally go to sleep ...
I woke up to the alarm, and turned over. Silly of me. I woke again about quarter past six. Treated mippies, brewed myself a fresh pot of coffee, morning smoke and think ... off to work.
Traffic at the intersection of Soutpan and Rosslyn road was a nightmare! The crossing was completely blocked ... I couldn't even see the traffic lights!
Rant alert.
Load shedding tonight from eight till midnight. And again tomorrow morning from four to six. Our Minister of Electricity - aptly a MOE - has now acknowledged that ending load shedding by the end of this year is not possible. Well, when they refuse to accept help from the private sector - just telling them 'no, we will not permit you to not load shed, because you're able to produce your own power, and no, we will not permit you to sell us excess electricity generated' ... well ...
Oh yeah, the latest 'plan' to end load shedding is to sucker us into installing smart meters. The reasoning being, since they can't generate enough to meet demand, they will forcibly drop 'demand'. They're trying to sell us on 'you'll be able to manage your home's demand, with the data the meter provides' while down-playing the fact that they CAN disconnect anything in our home, at will. The words used were 'In theory, yes, we could switch off your geyser'. Similar to the ripple relay - which they called 'a blunt instrument' by comparison.
Just have those friggin' mansions the ministers live in - all paid with our tax money - included in load shedding! You'll drop the entire country by at least one, most likely 2 Stages! And if they enjoy the same 'benefit' of their 'labour' - well, that will encourage THEM to do something about it!
Rant over.
Day over, too, ha ha! Time to go home ...
