Mippies allowed me to sleep late! I did wake up at half past five, but was allowed to turn over and promptly fell asleep again. I woke up again at seven with all four mippies quietly curled up around me!
They were happy when I got up, though, and happily rushed to the front door, which I gladly opened for them! I went and sat at the PC, but the internet was playing up again. Eventually I got things going online - and then realised a new Adventure should start on Monday, so I rushed about announcing, guiding, helping, and setting up my city! That kept me at the PC till noon! PS: On Monday I learned that it will only start NEXT Monday - now I'm wiping the egg off my face, ha ha ha!
On Friday, Leon returned and I welcomed him back - only to be told that my cigarette smoke stinks worse and worse and I should change brands! It occurred to me that, if he ever tried to apply "If you can't say anything nice, better not say anything at all" he would never speak again! Ha Ha! I didn't mention this on Friday, because it's just one side of him - but here's the other: On Saturday he came out and I was about to greet him, then thought better of it and kept quiet. Clearly he noticed that, because on Sunday he apologised for barking at me on Friday!
I'm enjoying a new phase of the many-paws: over-emotionalism! Oh, what fun! An example: I'm watching an episode of Bones, the one where Booth gets shot at the end. Now, I've seen it before, so I know it's coming. I'm also not sitting and watching, but busy around the room with it playing in the background. Get to the scene were Booth is shot. I feel tears welling up in my eyes! I mean: Seriously? WTF? It's not like I'm surprised or worried - I know he's back in the next episode ... and yet, here I am, holding back the tears! If you know me in real life, you know just how utterly preposterous this is!
I spent most of the afternoon in the kitchen. First, I cooked myself a bolognese sauce, from scratch. Then made some pasta to go with it - only, at first the dough was too dry, so I added another egg yolk, which left the dough too wet again. And it's stuck everywhere in the pasta machine! Ha Ha Ha! I've already learned that it comes out reasonably easily, once it's dried, so now I'm letting it dry. I eventually ended up cutting the pasta into strips with the pizza cutter! Remember how I freak out my friends with my obsessively even cutting of chives? Well, turns out that comes in handy when you're cutting pasta by hand! They were nice, long, and even strips!
Dinner was absolutely delicious! And mippies showed no interest - which was a good thing, as I had added a lot of garlic. And I cleaned the kitchen again, so there's no mess for Monday. I also baked a loaf of bread, just a plain french loaf for a change. Well, almost plain - I did add some herbs!
Oh, and that new measuring cup? It's a dream! I love it! It's not just simple to use, but very, very easy to clean as well! And it's plastic, not glass.
I had hoped to find time to work on my belt, as I'm noticing the belt loops on my work pants are quite frayed already, but I ran out of time.
I had to go sit outside with my mippies for some time. Janey was storing up cuddles again and Mewthos also needed a lot of cuddles again. Ziva had gone for a walk, but came when I finally called - as they'd be shut in again the next day, I don't like to cut their walks short. But Mewthos was getting impatient and it was already dark. Mini had to be carried in again! She just won't come when I call them in, yet, she doesn't run away when I walk up to her to pick her up, either! Not sure what her deal is, but I'm happy to play along.
I couldn't order my groceries - internet was not working, again! The bane of the country: Eishkom! No power to cell towers = no signal = no internet.
