Romeo has been coming for breakfast without Snoopy for
a while, missing a chunk out of his tail (which I cleaned and put some ointment
on). Rose had a message from a neighbour with a photo of Snoopy on a bed,
asking whose cat it is – and we assumed Snoopy had found a home.
Then, a week later, we started wondering – because, if
someone adopted him, they couldn’t just lock him up? That is when we found out
the devastating news: Snoopy had been attacked by dogs, some kind person took
him in, then got him to the vet, where he had to be euthanized due to the
internal injuries he suffered.
I was devastated! I cried so long, my poor Mippies all
came snuggling around, worried about me.
I meant to write something along the lines of an
epitaph for him – but I just can’t. I’ve written so much about him in the short
time he was in my life; and even though it’s been a few weeks now, I still miss
him! He was such a loving, darling – if I keep writing much longer, I’ll start
crying again.
In memory of Snoopy, I’m doing my best to care for
Romeo – who grieved for Snoopy a very, very long time!
Let me close with the last photo’s I took of Snoopy.
Snoopy loved ALL the toys in my flat. I would often hear him start to play with one or other toy during the day
Snoopy played with the toys more than all of my cats combined!
Such a happy cat!
All those days he would just stay for the company! He'd sleep mostly, then get up and play with a toy.
Unlike my Mips, he could entertain himself all day long!
He was the first cat to take a nap on my new furniture! This is my last photo of Snoopy. And now I want to cry again ...
