Sigh, Tuesday morning, Lady Jane let me know – in no
uncertain terms – that the condition of the litter box WAY below her standards!
She dropped a load on my bathroom mat! So I had to change the litter box, after
only four days. Well, I cleaned it out and filled it with the ultra fine sand –
under Lady Jane’s supervision! When I finished, Lady Jane went into the
box, scratched around a bit then gave me look of pure approval!
Well, I spent most of the week quite engrossed in the
Adventure running in Elvenar – despite a lot of uncommunicative (and therefore
frustrating) members, we got to the Finish! And ranked 38th!
Afterwards I composed a friendly message trying to get the message across that
participation without communication puts a spanner in the works, and takes the
fun out of it for whoever leads. No reaction from these silent parasites – they
just do as they please, and get the rewards because those of us who do
communicate, jump through hoops to compensate. Rant over.
Oh, I didn’t just play every waking moment – I went
out to get groceries, cooked the odd dinner, and made a point of not ignoring
my cats when they wanted attention! Shame, I neglected them a bit at first.
Mewthos is doing very well. He’s running around,
putting weight on all legs equally, when he’s jumping over the fence. And boy,
he sure uses his voice when he wants something – usually a treat! I’m a softie,
but if I gave in to him every time, he would soon balloon out of proportion!
I’ve been waking up very early the past couple of days
– and the cats found it puzzling that I don’t open the door to let them out
immediately. But they got used to waiting until after eight – when traffic has
calmed a bit. We don’t get much traffic on this road, but we do get some
irresponsible racers. The come over the hill at such speed – and with no regard
for anyone coming out of their drive way, let alone animals in the road.
Snowball and Romeo have learned to come for breakfast – at least, they try Rose’s,
but she shuts the door on them. So they come up here. Snowball is no problem,
so I keep him inside till after eight as well – but Romeo doesn’t like the
closed door and looks for another way out, which leads to trouble with my Mips.
Lady Jane and Ziva have accepted him, but Mewthos still … well, he kind of
cries at him. Like he’s making his displeasure known, loudly. Of course bares
his teeth, but that’s it. When Snowball sleeps in the lounge, Mewthos will go
sulk in the carrier.
Most days Ziva and the Mips have been running around
for a while, but even Ziva now spends more time indoors, sleeping by my side. I
can close the door around five and get no more theatrics. She’s quite content
to stay indoors.
I’ve taken a lot of photos these past couple of day,
some sunrises, some sunsets, some flowers and of course all the cats strolling
in and around my home. Maybe I’ll make some time to post them tomorrow. For
tonight, I want a hot bath then snuggle under the duvet with a good book. Terry
Pratchett, of course!
